Parasites: The Body’s Call for Cleanliness and Inner Balance
Parasites are often feared as invaders from the outside, but from a Natural Hygiene perspective, they are opportunistic organisms that can only thrive in an internal environment suited to their survival. They are not the cause of disease but a result of it — secondary to the accumulation of waste and decay within the body. When the inner terrain becomes congested, acidic, and poorly oxygenated, it creates the perfect conditions for parasitic life to appear and assist in the breakdown of waste. Their presence is therefore a sign of imbalance, not invasion.
Every living system attracts the organisms that match its condition. Just as flies gather around decaying matter, parasites flourish where uneliminated waste exists. The body’s natural defences — its clean blood, healthy tissues, and strong vitality — normally make it an unsuitable environment for parasites. When energy is depleted through overeating, processed foods, alcohol, or stress, the inner ecosystem loses balance, and the body’s ability to cleanse itself weakens. Parasites simply inhabit this neglected terrain.
Efforts to destroy parasites directly through drugs or herbs often fail in the long term because they address the symptom, not the cause. Killing them without cleansing the environment only provides temporary relief. The true remedy is purification — restoring the body’s natural cleanliness so that parasites can no longer survive. When the terrain becomes pure, they leave naturally, having completed their role in nature’s recycling process.
Diet is central to this restoration. Fresh fruits, leafy greens, and water-rich vegetables supply the alkalinity, hydration, and living energy needed to cleanse the intestines and blood. These foods dissolve mucus and remove the residues that parasites feed on. By contrast, heavy starches, animal products, refined sugar, and processed foods create fermentation and decay — the environment parasites depend on. Fasting can be particularly effective, as it denies parasites their food source and allows the body to rebuild its internal order.
Hydration and elimination are equally vital. Pure water, deep breathing, and gentle movement keep the lymph and bowel systems active, helping flush waste. Sunlight and rest strengthen vitality, supporting the body’s own defensive mechanisms. When the bloodstream is clean and oxygen-rich, parasitic activity cannot persist.
Emotionally, the presence of parasites can symbolise taking on too much — allowing energetic or emotional “drainage” from external sources. People who over-give, suppress emotions, or live in environments of stress often experience physical depletion that mirrors this dynamic. Healing, therefore, involves both physical cleansing and reclaiming personal boundaries, learning to conserve energy and live with clarity.
Parasites are not our enemies; they are nature’s recyclers. When they appear, they signal that the body has become a place of stagnation and that cleansing is required. By simplifying diet, fasting, hydrating, and resting, the inner terrain becomes inhospitable to them. The result is not just their disappearance but a renewed sense of vitality, clarity, and balance.
In essence, parasites teach us the same lesson that all symptoms do: that purity is health, and health is the natural state of the body when interference is removed.
